English International Jamie Walker joins the Sydney Saints as the third and final player for BPL 20.
Walker has been part of the international bowls scene for over 10 years and adds an international flavour to the Saints BPL Campaign. Jamie was the 2023 World Indoor Singles Champion, a 2016 World Bowls Triples Gold Medallist, Silver Medallist in the Pairs at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and Bronze Medallist in the 2023 World Bowls Championship Triples on the Gold Coast. Jamie is also the only player in history to have won all Indoor and Outdoor England National Singles Titles, a huge accomplishment indeed.
Born in Northampton, Walker now resides in the southern parts of the UK in Devon. His two club sides are Culm Vale Bowling Club (Outdoor) and Torquay United (Indoor).
“I’m absolutely stoked to be a part of the Sydney Saints for BPL 20. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and getting deep into the competition with Twisty and Dawn.” Jamie stated.
Walker is bound to be successful in the BPL format, a consistent draw bowler with a tonne of talent, particularly on the great surfaces at Pine Rivers.
Anthony Cottee (Group Sports Administrator) commented on the signing of Walker. “As soon as we looked at the dates and we knew we could make it happen, Jamie committed wholeheartedly and for that we are grateful. We can’t wait to have him on Board.”
Three players are now confirmed for the Sydney Saints. Who will coach the talented side?
